Ciao, I’m Inga, a teacher for over twenty five years, a writer, Italophile and lifelong seeker of beauty. The Italian Formulas was born from my years of living in Italy, a love affair with its language, people and way of life that continues to shape everything I do.

Here I share stories, flavours and glimpses of everyday Italy, from quiet mornings at the local bar sipping cappuccino to the artistry of handmade pasta and the effortless elegance of Italian style. Each piece is a reflection of la dolce vita: slow, sensual and deeply connected to place, season and soul.

When I moved to Milan twenty six years ago, I could not speak a word of Italian, but I quickly fell in love with the canals of the Navigli, the aperitivos in Brera and the vibrant markets overflowing with exquisite food and clothes. That was the beginning of my Italian journey, one that would span thirteen unforgettable years. I lived near Milan, then by the serene waters of Lake Lecco and finally in the timeless city of Ravenna.

My love affair with Italy never ended. When I returned to England, I began teaching conversational Italian to those who longed to learn in a fresh, intuitive and soulful way. Over the years, this evolved into The Italian Formulas, a course and a philosophy that is the culmination of twenty six years of learning, teaching and living the language of the heart.
